Before reading this, there’s a few things you should know about me. First thing is that I always have a bag with me, sometimes more than one. Second thing is that those bags are usually pretty full. The third thing you should know is that everything I have in those bags serves a purpose. Also most of the time it’s not even me using the stuff it’s someone else who needs it.
While what goes into my bag changes day by day based on the classes I have, I tend to bring a lot of the same stuff. There’s always the basics like pens, pencils, and paper, but I like to be extra prepared. After reading this you might think I’m a little weird, but thats ok because the best of us are.
Something I always have is my laptop. I use it for pretty much everything I do at school. I also always make sure I have my charger with me, especially on days I know I’m going to be using it a lot. While we’re on the topic of electronics, I try to bring my phone charger wth me everywhere I go. What’s worse than a dead phone on a two hour commute?
My pencil case is pretty big, but not without good reason. It’s completely full of everything you could possibly need. I have most, if not every, colour of Muji pen in the 0.38 thickness, they’re my absolute favourite pens. I also love Muji’s highlighters. They’re double ended and have a little see through part on one side, I get these in pink. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of pencils so I tend not to use them but that doesn’t mean other people don’t. I try to always have pencils on me for when someone needs one, I bought a pack from the dollar store just for this reason. The last few things in my pencil case are a little unnecessary, but I like having them. I have a pack of blank index cards, a pad of paper with lines to make lists (also from Muji), and stick notes. I could easily go without these, but they make life a little easier.
Of course I have my school work in my bag. Unlike during term one and two, where I used binders, I keep my work organized in file folders. I like this method because this term has a much lighter work load and binders seem unnecessary. I got my file folders from Winners for $4.50 and they’re super cute. Depending on the day, I’ll also have a textbook to go along with the corresponding folder.
Unfortunately, both of my parents have bad eyes and I’m stuck wearing glasses. I try to wear them as much as possible to avoid migraines and to protect my eyes from my computer screen, which is why you’ll rarely see me at school without them. I also tend to keep a pair of sunglasses with me, which are almost always in my bag. At the moment I’ve been wearing my Ray-Ban Clubmasters quite frequently, I love them for summer.
The last few things I keep in my bag are things I keep in every one of my bags. In the front pocket of my backpack I have gum, Advil, Claritin, tissues, hand sanitizer, hand cream, and a lip balm. I think these are essential as you never know when you or someone you know’s going to need them. I also always try to carry a water bottle with me because it’s super important to stay hydrated.
This is just the stuff I always carry with me to school. Of course it changes daily based off of what I’m doing that day but for the most part, you’re not likely to catch me without this stuff.
