Every one always talks about how you need all these different things in wardrobe. They’re always saying how you should be wearing all the trendiest clothes and getting everything you see the girls on instagram wearing. I think they’re wrong. I think everyone should be investing in quality clothing that won’t fall apart and will last for years. In my opinion, you save money when you spend more on quality basic clothing. You won’t have to repurchase nearly as often, and as long as you buy the right cuts you’ll never go out of style.
The first basic everyone needs in their closet is a good white t-shirt. It’s a classic for a reason. These t-shirts come in so many different styles and materials, and they go with pretty much everything. It may seem like a waste spending a little more than usual on something so plain, but trust me you won’t regret it. This will last you years.
Going hand in hand with the t-shirt, the second wardrobe essential is a good fitting pair of jeans. Because of how many styles jeans come in nowadays, it’s important to pick the right pair. In my opinion, the best options to invest in are classic cuts and washes to avoid dating. Make sure that the jeans you’re buying fit you, there’s no point in paying for something that you can’t even wear.
My third pick is of course the little black dress, just another thing we have Chanel to thank for. Since being invented by Coco herself, it has been a staple in every woman closet. But then again, how could it not be? The LBD is such a classic look and comes in every silhouette imaginable, theres bound to be a style that looks good on everyone.
A white button up shirt is something nobody should go without. They’re perfect for interviews and on days when you want to feel a little more put together. A button up shirt is something that quality is very noticeable in, they’re an important piece to invest in. You can easily tell when they’re lesser quality, because chances are it’ll be see through. Unless you’re wearing this everyday, you won’t have to replace it often.
The fifth piece worth investing in, is a leather jacket. Whether it’s vegan or real leather, this is something you won’t regret spending a little extra on. The cheap ones are so uncomfortable and never fit quite right. When you invest in a nice leather jacket, you might be spending more than you’re used to but you’re getting something that fits and looks good. If you shop smart and pick the right jacket, it could last you the rest of your life.
No matter what you buy, you should always be looking at the quality. Remember that just because something has a higher price, doesn’t mean it’s higher quality. You might be spending way too much money on something that won’t even last a full season. While you’re shopping, always be thinking of quality over quantity, it’ll make shopping a little harder but it’s worth it in the end.
